Throughout 2025, we’ve heard that Apple is planning to revamp its Health app with new services, including a new subscription for the best new features. Recent changes in Apple’s team structure suggest the company is preparing to launch its Health+ subscription in 2026.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is moving the health and fitness team to be under the supervision of its head of services, Eddy Cue. The move comes as Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Williams, is leaving the company with plans to retire.
As previously leaked by Gurman, Apple is reportedly working on a new Health+ subscription, which would include food tracking, nutrition planning, and further health advice through an AI assistant.
Sources say the Health app will continue to monitor your data from the Apple Watch, iPhone, and other third-party products. An AI assistant will then gain access to that data, and provide you with recommendations on how to improve your health.
For example, if it tracks the potential of heart-rate issues, you may then be served a video explaining the risks of heart disease. It could then tailor workouts and nutritional advice to help improve your heart health.
Other AI-based features may include advice on how to improve your exercise and sleep. The leaks say it may eventually include mental health and physical therapy features, too.

This latest team move is a suggestion that Apple is gearing up for launch next year, meaning it may be on track for the next big Apple software release. Previously Gurman had suggested it would be ready for launch in the second half of 2026, as part of iOS 27.
Apple launched its existing Fitness+ subscription service in 2020, which includes video-based workouts and other programs for users to follow along with. There’s currently no signal of Fitness+ being combined with Health+ as one product.
It’s unclear how much Health+ will cost per a year. You may be able to save on the subscription if Apple chooses to include it as part of its One plan that collates services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and more.
