Artificial Intelligence (AI) Investing is a remarkably wide field, because there are countless ways to take advantage of this trend. Two of the most popular are Nvidia (Nasdaq: NVDA) And Palantir (Nasdaq: PLTR)represent two different sides of AI investments.
Nvidia is on the hardware side, while Palantir produces AI software. These are two lucrative fields to invest in, but is there a clear winner? Let’s know.

NVIDIA produces graphic processing units (GPUs), which have become the preferred computer hardware for processing AI -Workloads. Although Nvidia has earned a lot of money from selling GPUs, it is not yet ready. NVIDIA expects that the Big Four AI Hyperscalers will issue around $ 600 billion in Datacenter capital expenditure this year, but projects that global capital expenditure for data center in 2030 will increase to $ 3 trillion up to $ 4 trillion.
However, Nvidia is not completely safe. The GPUs can fall out of fashion with AI Hyperscalers while developing internal AI processing chips that could steal part of the market share of Nvidia. Moreover, if the demand for computer equipment decreases, the income flows of Nvidia can fall. That is why a subscription model such as Palantir is a better company in the long term.
Palantir develops AI software that can be described as “data in, insights.” By using AI to quickly process a lot of information, Palantir can offer real -time insights for what people with decision -making authority should do. Moreover, developers also give the power to use AI agents who can act autonomously within a company.
Palantir sells its software to commercial customers and government agencies and has collected a significant customer base, although that figure expands quickly. As the AI tree continues, these customers are likely to stay with Palantir because it is incredibly difficult to get rid of the software once it is used. This means that after the AI expenditure tree has been completed, Palantir will still be able to generate continuous income from his software subscriptions.
This gives Palantir a business advantage.
Although the sales growth of Palantir accelerates, it is still slower than that of Nvidia.
NVDA -Income (quarterly YOY growth) Data from Ycharts
This is possible somewhere in the near future, but for the time being Nvidia has the growth lead.
An item that could rearrange the growth of Nvidia is the return of his company in China. NVIDIA is currently working on obtaining its export license for H20 chips. Once that has been returned, the company could see a huge question from another country that requires a considerable AI calculation. Even without a huge piece of sale, Nvidia is still growing faster than Palantir, which gives it the benefit here.
With both companies that grow at a similar pace, it would be logical to expect that they should act within a similar valuation range. However, that is not the case. Whether you analyze the shares of a forward price gain (p/e) or price-to-sales (p/s) base, the shares of Palantir is incredibly expensive.
NVDA PE -Ratio (forward) data by Ycharts
From P/S -Basis, Palantir is about 5 times more expensive than Nvidia. From a forward p/e -based it is approximately 6.5 times more expensive.
With these two growing at the same pace, this enormous premium for Palantir’s stock is not very logical. It will take years, or even a decade, at the growth rate of Palantir to bring his appreciation to a reasonable level; Yet Nvidia is already acting at that price.
I think this Nvidia gives an inviolable advantage for investors, and I think it is currently the much better buy, mainly because of the appreciation, because the price of Palantir has gotten out of hand.
