Blackburn, Blumenthal raise alarms over AI toys

Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) are pressing several companies about the sale of AI-powered toys following reports of such items engaging in inappropriate conversations. “These AI toys — specifically those powered by chatbots embedded in everyday children’s toys like plushies, dolls, and other beloved toys — pose risks to children’s healthy development,” the senators wrote in letters…
