AN autonomous robo dog with a grenade launcher strapped to its back has been unveiled to bring “lethal capability” to battlefields.

The four-legged bot uses AI-assisted targeting software to track anything and blow it to smithereens.

In a shock video, the CODiAQ (Controller-Operated Direct-Action Quadruped) is seen striking a demo car and engulfing it in flames.

The quadruped moves about autonomously, allowing a single person to operate the system with a handheld remote controller.

Creators, Skyborne Technologies, say it’s designed to deliver “accurate remote direct-fire and ballistic breaching” – and the device can be deployed within minutes.

“CODiAQ is purpose-built for the warfighter,” the firm explains.

“It delivers precision lethality while keeping the operator safe, mobile, and focused on mission objectives.”

The kit has two weapons attached, a HAVOC 40mm grenade launcher and a CHAOS 12-gauge shotgun.

Skyborne says operators can be trained to use it in just a few days.

The video also shows the robo war dog able to roll around and climb stairs at speed.

It can even handle rugged terrain and get across debris-filled spaces.

And there are plans to integrate it with other lethal robotic systems such as defence drones.

CODiAQ was officially unveiled at the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington this week.

It’s in the process of being rolled out to US Government partners for deployment, according to Skyborne.
