Contemporary Amperex Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Limited, the intelligent vehicle unit of Chinese battery giant CATL, has completed its first external financing round, raising nearly RMB 2 billion (US$275 million). Investors include Boyu Capital, Guotai Junan Securities, Cathay Fortune Corp, BAIC Capital, Shanghai STVC Group, and Fortera Capital. The funds will be used to support mass production of CATL’s Bedrock chassis and the development of next-generation chassis technologies.

Since early 2024, the company has signed Bedrock chassis cooperation agreements with automakers such as BAIC and Avatr, as well as partners in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. CATL said the subsidiary will continue advancing chassis industrialization and expanding its presence in the global electric vehicle supply chain. [TechNode reporting]
