China’s smartphone market declined 3% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, extending its adjustment phase amid intensified competition, according to research firm Omdia. Vivo led shipments with 11.8 million units and an 18% market share, followed by Huawei with 10.5 million units (16%). Apple ranked third with 10.1 million units, up two positions from a year earlier, while Xiaomi and Oppo shipped 10 million and 9.9 million units, respectively.
The results highlight a tightening race among major brands as domestic players and Apple compete in the premium segment. Omdia expects China’s smartphone market to stabilize in 2025, driven by continued product innovation and broader adoption of AI-enhanced features. [TechNode reporting]
