Celonis SE is doubling down on composable platforms as the key to unlocking the full potential of enterprise AI.
Celonis’ Eugenio Cassiano discusses composable AI platforms with theCUBE.
This model lets organizations plug in capabilities, share tools and tap into partner innovation — forming a flexible, interoperable foundation for enterprise transformation. Following last year’s early launch of AgentC, Celonis recently introduced its first model context protocol for process intelligence.
“I believe that in this AI, to get the value and the maximum out of it, you need to work in a composable ecosystem,” said Eugenio Cassiano (pictured), senior vice president of strategy and innovation at Celonis. “You can wire in things, you can offer things, and that’s why you have resources and you have tools, and then you have an ecosystem. They bring a beautiful, deep domain expertise to build new models.”
Cassiano spoke with theCUBE’s Rob Strechay and Savannah Peterson at Celosphere 25, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, News Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how the Celonis’ composable approach and new MCP protocol are reshaping how organizations harness AI through connected ecosystems. (* Disclosure below.)
The future of composable platforms
A new enterprise challenge has emerged — “shadow AI,” where employees and departments independently build isolated agents without governance, Cassiano explained. MCP helps chief information officers maintain control and orchestration across these distributed initiatives. By providing a unified framework, Celonis enables enterprises to govern their AI agents, ensuring collaboration, compliance and efficiency across systems and teams.
“Everybody wants to build their own agent isolated,” Cassiano said. “That’s where MCP plays well because you can help the CIO to be in control, to govern and to have a way to orchestrate things together, and they confirm the strength. Ultimately, there will be two, three, four vendors who will govern the power of the ecosystem. They provide the right context, the right tools and resources.”
Last year, organizations were focused on experimentation; this year, they’re chasing tangible returns — or as Celonis calls it, “RoAI.” Customers are now seeking methodologies that deliver productivity and measurable business outcomes, with process intelligence and composable platforms guiding where to focus their AI investments, Cassiano added.
“The beauty is when you start composing and you start enabling this kind of interoperable AI ecosystem, you can start to attribute the value they generate,” he said. “That’s what we have been doing at Celonis for the last years. Now we are opening up also to AI initiatives and composable solutions.”
