Like every day of the week, Helena Carius goes to work. Meanwhile, her two children are having fun at daycare. Grandpa will pick her up later, otherwise single parenting and a job with flexible working hours wouldn’t go together for her.
What is it: It’s about technology, it’s sometimes exciting, sometimes disturbing, sometimes amusing and very rarely has a happy ending? That’s right: the c’t story. It has had a permanent place in the magazine for a good 37 years – and for some time now also on heise+. Sometimes it comes from the pens of award-winning fiction professionals, sometimes the authors are top-class scientists – or idiosyncratic young science fiction debutants. Many of our c’t story authors have won renowned prizes for their works in recent years, such as the Kurd Laßwitz Prize (KLP) or the German Science Fiction Prize (DSFP).
But this afternoon, everyday life comes to a standstill when a police officer in uniform asks about her in the office.
