It’s been about a week since the new iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro lineup hit shelves, and now that the honeymoon phase is winding down, it’s time to think about the next step: accessories. There’s no shortage of options, from ultra-slim cases to rugged cases, MagSafe batteries to charging setups, and everything in between. I have tested dozens of these new accessories, and here are some of my early favorites and must-haves!

Before we get into it, if you want to see a complete hands-on with all of these accessories, be sure to check out our video below!

Now, let’s start with the best cases for your new iPhone!

Protecting your new iPhone 17/Air/Pro

It seems like the average person is throwing a case on their iPhone no matter what. We have run polls and seen other reports that anywhere from 75% to 85% of iPhone customers slap a case on their iPhone after the first week of owning it. But some people like ultra-thin cases, others like multifunctional ones, and others like to have absolute max protection. Here are my recommendations for each case based on the case category.

Ultra-Thin: Thinborne Slim Case (Under $59)

  • If you love the naked iPhone feel but still want protection, Thinborne’s ultra-thin aramid fiber case is the way to go. It’s rigid, feather-light, and adds MagSafe compatibility without unnecessary bulk. It’s like a skin, but sturdier and more reliable. If you pair it with the cosmic orange iPhone 17 Pro, the black and orange look amazing together.

Premium Leather: Nomad Modern Leather case (starts at $49)

  • A staple for years, this case combines Horween or full-grain leather with a durable frame. Because it is made of premium leather, you get a beautiful patina, and that real leather smell is fantastic.

Heavy-duty protection: ESR Rugged Stand Case (Under $40)

  • This case will be able to handle pretty much anything. It has a dual-layer case with silicone and hard shell, featuring ultra-strong MagSafe magnets. The camera plateau lip also doubles as a stand, so you can consume content hands-free too! Even comes in a matching orange color.

Charging accessories

This is where it starts to get fun. There are a few things to note here. The new iPhone 17 and 17 Pro/Pro Max now support the new Qi2.2 25W fast charging, while the iPhone Air only supports Qi2 15W charging. So these are some of the best accessories to ensure your iPhone stays topped up!

Best desk charger: ESR 3 in 1 Cryoboost Qi2 charger (under $40)

  • This is one of the best 3 in 1 charger values. This will charge your iPhone at 15W, fast charge your Apple Watch, and charge your AirPods wirelessly. The cherry on top is that the Apple Watch charger is removable, so you can take it with you if needed! They also have a Qi2.2 version that charges up to 25W, starting at $99.

Best travel charger: Kuxiu X40 Turbo (under $80)

  • This has been my new favorite charger and my most recommended one. It’s a Qi2.2 3-in-1 charger that will charge your iPhone at up to 25W. It folds up really nicely to have a small footprint but also unfolds to become a stand. It comes with a braided cable, 35W charging brick, and a hardshell carrying case. It’s a must-have for travel charging!

Magsafe battery pack: Kuxiu S2 (under $50)

  • This slim 5,000mAh pack provides 15W wireless and 20W wired charging. Unlike Apple’s new pack (which only works with iPhone Air), this one works with any iPhone 16/17 series. It also has a really nice matte black frosted glass finish to match the iPhone

Magsafe and other accessories

I am a massive fan of all things MagSafe. It unlocks a ton of potential to use your iPhone in so many different ways. There are wallets, stands, tools, mounts, and anything you can think of now has Magsafe magnets. Here are some of my favorites.

Moft Tripod Stand & Wallet (under $50)

  • This accessory does it all. First, it’s a stand for your phone, so it can be used to view your content in any orientation. It then also acts as a tripod that elevates your iPhone 8 off the ground. It can also be used as a short selfie stick, and it can hold two cards, so it can be used as an emergency wallet. It’s one of the best all-around products.

Aulumu G05 stand & tool (under $30)

  • This is another great multi-functional accessory. First, it is a MagSafe stand that allows you to view your phone in any orientation. It also acts as a grip to better hold your phone. It then has a spring-loaded ceramic box cutter built in. Lastly, it ends up acting as a fidget toy because it has these ultra-satisfying clicks as you rotate the stand!

Static Magnetic cable (under $25)

  • This is a perfectly made USB-C cable that supports 100W fast charging, 480mbps transfer speeds but most importantly, it never gets tangled. It uses these magnets to precisely align itself every time to get coiled up. Its amazing!

Final thoughts

Apple may have upgraded the camera design on the iPhone 17 and Air, but most MagSafe and USB-C accessories still work with older iPhones. If you’re setting up your iPhone 17, consider getting a Thinborne Slim Case for protection, the Nomad Modern Leather Case for a premium feel, the Kuxiu X40 Turbo for travel charging, and the Moft Tripod Wallet for everyday use. These are the perfect options that can be the solution to a bunch of different scenarios.
