Dell is set to revive the XPS name at CES 2026 after testing the waters with its Dell Premium range in 2025, signalling a possible return to a familiar flagship identity.

Dell previewed an updated XPS lineup during CES 2026 prebriefings, according to insider sources.

The company retired the XPS badge at CES 2025 and replaced it with a simpler tiered scheme. That move proved controversial among fans who equate XPS with premium design and compact power. Now, people will feel reassured to learn that Dell now seems to be reconsidering that decision.

What changed in 2025

Dell launched the Dell 14 Premium and Dell 16 Premium in mid‑2025 to succeed the XPS 14 and XPS 16 in practice. The Premium models keep the slim bezels and refined finishes that XPS users expect, while simplifying the product stack for shoppers.

Fans expectedly reacted with mixed emotions, from relief at the continuity of design to frustration over the lost badge.

What to expect at CES 2026

Intel plans to unveil its Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake” chips on 5 January, and Dell’s prebriefing suggests the refreshed XPS models will use those processors.

That change could bring improved on‑device AI and better integrated graphics. Leaks from 2024 hinted Dell might also offer AMD and Qualcomm options for XPS, which would broaden buyer choice. For buyers, this means more configuration options and potential performance gains.

Ultimately, people would be getting what they wanted, and this is a step in the right direction for Dell.

Opinion

Dell seems to be listening to its audience. Their Premium line preserved the XPS spirit, and the reported revival would restore a recognisable name that many buyers trust. Expect official details at CES 2026 and prepare to compare CPU options closely. If you value design and cutting edge silicon, this development should pique your interest.
