DJI’s upcoming Osmo Action 6 sports camera has leaked online, revealing a major upgrade with an f/2.0–f/4.0 variable aperture lens and a 1/1.1-inch stacked CMOS sensor co-developed with Sony. DJI earlier announced it would launch a new product on Nov. 13, with promotional materials hinting at a variable-aperture camera believed to be the Osmo Action 6, succeeding the Osmo Action 4 and Action 5 Pro.
The new sensor offers nearly 40% more light-sensitive area than the previous model, improving low-light performance and dynamic range beyond 13 stops. It will support 8K 30fps video with HDR and ProRes encoding, along with 5.3K 60fps and 4K 120fps recording.
Other features reportedly include a 1950mAh battery for up to four hours of use, IP68 water resistance up to 20 meters, built-in 64GB storage, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and a new smartwatch-linking function for remote control and fitness data overlay. [IThome, in Chinese]
