F1 Japanese GP LIVE RESULTS: Max Verstappen LEADS Lando Norris

Lap 9/53 – Verstappen leads, Norris second

Ferrari are gambling on the hard compounds lasting longer than the mediums, allowing Hamilton to move up the grid.

Verstappen seems to pick up time with every lap.

Norris is having to try and keep pace with him early on.

Lap 7/53 – Verstappen leads, Norris second

The leading Red Bull currently has DRS and that is making life difficult for Norris.

Hamilton makes the most of it himself as moves up to seventh spot.

Verstappen has opened up a 1.7 second lead currently.

Lap 5/53 – Verstappen leads, Norris second

Tsunoda is back in 13th position and will be desperate to improve upon that on his first Red Bull drive.

Hamilton is back in eighth place, he needs to try and push towards the podium finishes sooner rather than later.

This could be a must-watch battle between Verstappen and Norris in this race.

Lap 3/53 – Verstappen leads, Norris second

Nearly everyone has gone out on mediums from the start.

That is apart from Hamilton who has gambled with hards.

McLaren currently occupy second and third position.
