F5 has added new security capabilities to your Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP)with the goal of unifying intelligent threat protection, Zero Trust access controls and crypto-agile architecture to facilitate the protection of distributed applications and preparation for post-quantum risks.

The company has thus integrated AI-powered protections, automated and risk-based capabilities into its platform. Specifically, it has done so in its web application firewall (WAF) to reduce operational overhead and improve threat detection, as well as to close the gaps between risk identification and mitigation.

To achieve faster and smarter responses to threats, F5 offers AI-powered protections in its ADSP platform, automated and risk-based capabilities in WAF that reduce operational overhead and improve the direction and closure of gaps between risk identification and mitigation.

So, F5 AI Fixed reduces the gap between identifying vulnerabilities in AI models, in combination with F5 AI Red Team and F5 AI Guardrails. AI Remediate accelerates response time by automating the creation, optimization, and qualification of specific protection packages.

Security teams can then deploy protections with empirical support or in production with human approval. As part of ADSP, AI Remediate helps reduce exposure quickly and without disrupting running AI applications, eliminating repetitive tasks.

Furthermore, the latest version of F5 Distributed Cloud WAF incorporates AI-based risk classification, moving manual processes to automated protections. It has results-based blocking policies that eliminate threats, reduce operational burden and improve protection, with low false positive rates thanks to layered analysis.

The solutions F5 Web Application and API Protection Reduce reliance on exceptions at the signature and configuration level for enterprises with a broad application portfolio. The company is incorporating more features into F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense to address the challenges of AI-based automation. Its new features combat analytics distortion, automated abuse, and phishing attempts created by AI agents.

On the platform, Distributed Cloud Bot Defense offers more visibility into application traffic and differentiates between humans, bots, and AI agents. Only trusted and verifiable AI agents can interact with applications, ensuring malicious or uncontrolled activities are blocked.

ADSP now integrates F5 Distributed Cloud Web App Scanning with F5 BIG-IP Advanced WAF, giving you scalable and automated vulnerability detection for BIG-IP clients. Make it easier to identify threats with automated penetration testing, as well as speed up the implementation of virtual patches. The integration optimizes vulnerability detection and exploit response, and reduces time spent protecting.

Separately, F5 is converting BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) to BIG-IP Zero Trust Access, improving its ability to access Zero Trust applications as part of ADSP. BIG-IP Zero Trust Accesso delivers hybrid Zero Trust operations with continuous identity- and context-aware policy enforcement for modern, cloud, SaaS, and legacy applications.

Its on-demand validation strengthens application security across multiple access environments, and supports Identity Aware Proxy, SSL VPN, and IPsec VPN on a post-quantum cryptography-ready platform. F5 Distributed Cloud API Security’s new API detection and security options offer flexibility and control for application environments.

Enhancements include out-of-band detection across different data planes, such as BIG-IP, NGINX, Kong, and Apigee. This API security software solution is Deployable for isolated, highly regulated environments with cloud limitationsand also maintains complete visibility and supervision of the APIs without external connections, which allows compliance with regulations and data sovereignty.
