Following a last-minute delay due to reported allegations of plagiarism, French drama The Hunt was released on Apple TV this Wednesday. Here are the details.

First two episodes now available

Last September, Apple confirmed that a new thriller series called The Hunt would premiere on Apple TV on December 3. However, about two weeks before the premiere date, The Hunt vanished from the service’s release schedule and marketing material.

A few days after that, French media reported that the series had been pulled due to allegations of plagiarism from a 1973 novel called La Traque, by Bernard Petit, a report later confirmed by Deadline.

And while Apple never publicly addressed the allegations, it did confirm a few days ago that the show would premiere today, March 4. The first two episodes are available on Apple TV, with weekly episodes premiering every Wednesday through April 1st.

According to the company, here’s what to expect from The Hunt, which stars Mélanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds), and Benoît Magimel (The Piano Teacher):

Franck (Benoît Magimel) and his longtime friends enjoy spending their weekends hunting together, but one Sunday, they come across another group of hunters who start targeting them without explanation. When one of their party is shot, Franck’s friends strike back, sending an attacker to the ground. Barely managing to escape, the four friends keep the event a secret. Franck tries to go back to his life as usual alongside his wife Krystel (Mélanie Laurent), but in the next few days, he starts to feel like he and his friends are being watched, or worse, tracked by hunters who are now hell-bent on revenge.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like F1 The Movie, Pluribus, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
