Sex Friends

Published on February 12, 2026 by Steinkis editions – €22.50

Adapting a philosophical essay into a comic strip is the somewhat crazy challenge that Colin Atthar and Richard Mèmeteau took on. Exercise is not new, and it even tends to appeal to us regularly. This time again, it was a success with flying colours. After the book published by Zones in 2019, Sex Friends offers an illustrated and fictionalized version. A dive into the deep end of dating apps, where the protagonists project their expectations, their disillusionments, and their fantasies. We loved the way the comic strip makes philosophical discourse immediately more accessible for novices of the genre, without emptying it of its substance. A title that makes you think as much as it entertains. We didn’t expect much less from Steinkis.

Karybde & Cylla #01

In the vast landscape of SF youth comics, Karybde et Cylla stands out thanks to its deliciously crazy concept: Karybdis is a gifted teenager whose brain shares space with Cylla, a talking fox. The unlikely duo finds themselves propelled into a space adventure that mixes unbridled humor and unfiltered emotions. Christophe Cazenove, accustomed to success at Bamboo, signs a rhythmic and endearing scenario, for adults as well as the youngest, from 6 years old. A very promising first volume.

Minor Arcana #01

We’re not going to lie: as soon as Jeff Lemire releases a new series, we’re there. But Minor Arcana exceeds even our wildest expectations. Theresa returns to her hometown after a prolonged exile. This return will awaken psychic gifts that the young thirty-year-old thought she had definitively buried. Lemire alone provides the scenario and drawing, assisted by colorist Patricio Delpeche for high-level chromatic atmospheres. Its characteristic feature here is at the service of a story which speaks above all of transmission, intergenerational trauma and the weight of family secrets. We are in a pure Lemire, somewhere between Sweet Tooth et Black Hammerwith this rare gift for making the fantastic deeply human.

And when my vengeance falls on you

Gus Moreno and Jakub Rebelka
Published on January 29, 2026 by Editions 404 – €24.95

Fans of horror comics already know the features of Jakub Rebelka, expressive, dark and inhabited by a dull violence that sticks to the retina. With Gus Moreno on the screenplay, the two artists form a formidable duo for this story of an exorcist priest summoned to an isolated island. The atmosphere is heavy from the first pages, the mystery thickens as the intrigue thickens, and Rebelka gives free rein to frankly grueling graphic sequences. Gore lovers will be served.

The Path behind the house

Jeremy Gasparutto
Published on January 21, 2026 by Label 619 editions – €27.90

There is something immediately singular in Jérémie Gasparutto’s project: The Path behind the house is a collection of short, poetic and dreamlike stories, which float somewhere between the naturalist fable and the waking dream. Each sequence summons memories, sensations, atmospheres linked to nature and the cycles of time. The format fully participates in the experience: it is a book that can be held, that can be looked at, that rests on a shelf like a precious object.

The Children of the Wood

Andrea Casaran
Published on February 25, 2026 by Drakoo editions – €17.90

With The Children of the WoodAndrea Casaran offers us one Gothic youth tale that doesn’t do things by half measures. Eleanor, a lonely young girl, lives as a recluse with her father when she receives a mysterious mechanical brother. The two will create an unbreakable bond, and flee into the woods to escape a reality. The atmosphere is deliciously strange, somewhere between the Brothers Grimm and Tim Burton’s automatons. Casaran draws his settings with meticulous, almost threatening precision, and gives his characters an expressiveness which compensates for the laconicism of the subject. For young readers who like when stories are a little scary.

The Lost Sunday

Ileana Surducan
Published on February 25, 2026 by Aventuriers d’Ailleurs – €14.90

Ileana Surducan adapts Grimm’s Count here Lady Winter with a rare visual sensitivity. When Nina goes in search of Sunday, the prisoner of a witch, the young girl crosses dreamlike, almost metaphorical spaces. A separate universe, which the author represents with a palette of muted colors and a composition reminiscent of the illustrations of the great European storybooks. The story is short, almost contemplative, and requires time to unfold. Those who are willing to slow down will discover a work of singular beauty, which deals with loss, the passage of time and the need to fight for what really matters.

Les Petits Mythos – The audio comic to listen to

Christophe Cazenove and Bloz
Published on February 25, 2026 by Bamboo editions – €11.90

The Petits Mythos series by Cazenove has long been a sure value in children’s comics. It returns this year in a new innovative concept, in an audio BD version, to read and listen to. It’s well-paced, often funny, and it makes young people want to explore the subject. An ideal gift for young readers, experienced or aspiring.

Wild Friendships

There are books that we recommend without hesitation because they touch on something essential in the human experience. Wild Friendships by Mette Vedsø is one of them. The author explores with rare finesse female friendships in all their intensity and complexity, this time in a comic book adaptation which highlights the graphic work of Sofie Louise Dam. Exit romances, sorority finally takes the place it deserved in literature. The writing is precise, sometimes cutting, always accurate. We had a hard time putting the book down, and we never tire of recommending it to everyone.

A short treatise on physics for geeks (but not only)

Cedric Ray et Pol Grasland-Mongrain
Published on January 28, 2026 by Albin Michel editions – €21.90

Who hasn’t always wanted to understand what the physics behind Pokéball technology really looks like, or how far Monkey D. Luffy could stretch his arms? Cédric Ray and Pol Grasland-Mongrain had the good idea to take pop culture as an entry point into the big questions of contemporary physics. The approach is educational without being condescending, playful without sacrificing scientific rigor: it is the right balance that is difficult to find in this type of popularization.

The power of Geeks

Damien Leloup
Published on January 15, 2026 by Les Arènes – €20

Le Monde journalist Damien Leloup tackles a major cultural and political phenomenon: how geek culture, long marginalized and mockedhas become the fertile ground for American neo-conservatism. Between counterculture aesthetics and deeply reactionary ideology borrowed from Elon Musk and JD Vance, The Power of Geeks offers a solid but careful analysis of the world. An essential book to understand how we went from marginal nerd to tech megalomaniac billionaires.

The Four Winds of Desire

Ursula K. Le Guin
Published on February 11, 2026 by Le Livre de Poche – €8.90

I discover

Selec Bd Fev 26 (12)

Reissued in pocket format this year, this collection of twenty short stories by Ursula K. Le Guin has not aged a bit. The great lady of science fiction displays the full extent of her talent, with short, dense stories that explore desire in all its forms with the same grace. To read Le Guin in 2026 is to realize how far his work was ahead of his time, and how far it still is ahead of ours.

The Worst Guide to Japan

Cyprien does it again with a travel diary dedicated to Japan, and the result is in line with his previous productions: funny, uninhibited, and above all tailored for his audience. Don’t expect an in-depth analysis of Japanese society, the YouTube star of the 2010s offers us an authentic travel story told with his characteristic sense of humor. Fans will be delighted, and those who have never read his comics might be pleasantly surprised.
