Goal has acquired Play AI, a startup that uses artificial intelligence for generate voices that sound human. The team will join Mark Zuckerberg’s firm in the coming weeks, according to Bloomberg.
Goal continues to add companies and talent to its artificial intelligence ecosystem with the aim of leading the race for the great current technology. If last week we knew the hiring of the former Apple AI models, Ruoming Pang, this week we started with the acquisition of another company.
Play AI joins a long list of companies acquired in recent years, both software and hardware, as well as the purchase of the South Korean company dedicated to the development of chips for artificial intelligence, Furiosaai, founded in 2017 by former Samsung and AMD workers.
It has also used other strategies such as the multimillionaire investment in third parties such as the purchase of 49% of Scale AI’s shares for 14.3 billion dollars, together with the incorporation of its CEO, Alexander Wang, to his panel of great executives.
Another leg of the strategy has been the direct purchase of companies specialized in AIsmall in size, but with technologies that can improve/complete those that already have a goal. This is where Playai enters, a specialized startup in the creation of natural voices and a platform for its development, which can be combined with the finish line in AI, goal Ai, wearable and creation of audio content.
The financial terms of the acquisition have not been informed, nor are more details known. Bloomberg says that Play AI template will join the Meta in the coming weeks.
