Google Ventures has led a $35m (£25.5m) Series B investment round for London-based AI company Metaview.
The Shoreditch-headquartered firm has developed an AI hiring platform that provides insights based on data from job interviews.
Metaview’s AI tools analyse hiring conversations, converting them into real-time insights in a process that the company claims provides a layer of “objectivity” and “consistency” to the hiring process.
The company’s suite of tools includes an AI notetaker, post-call reports, a chatbot to provide answers about candidates and a job post generation service.
“We’re building the AI infrastructure that recruiting has always needed – not to remove the human touch, but to learn from their best decisions at scale,” said Siadhal Magos, co-founder and chief executive of Metaview.
“By harnessing the data that actually matters — hiring conversations — we’re making the process radically more efficient today, and laying the foundation for radically better decisions tomorrow.”
Founded in 2018, the company claims to have recorded more than three million interviews to date. Previous users of Metaview include Sony, ElevenLabs and Deliveroo.
“Recruitment is one of the most important levers for change, but most hiring processes still rely on vague impressions, scattered notes, and unstructured conversations,” added Metaview co-founder and CTO Shahriar Tajbakhsh.
“We provide the technology to turn interviews into intelligence, helping organisations improve their hiring prowess and gain competitive advantage. Unlike generic AI tools, our AI is purpose-built for hiring, with the contextual knowledge that hiring teams need to drive results – without requiring technical expertise.”
Joining Google’s venture capital arm in Metaview’s Series B round are Plural, Vertex Ventures, Seedcamp, Coeluis Capital, True Equity as well as Synthesia chief executive Victor Riparbelli and Cleo AI chief executive Barney Hussey-Yeo.
“Metaview is fundamentally rethinking how hiring is done with AI. The platform automates hiring workflows whilst improving the quality of hiring decisions, a powerful combination that delights customers,” said Vidu Shanmugarajah, a partner at Google Ventures.
“We’ve been impressed by both the growth and customer expansion, with leading companies across recruitment, financial services, enterprise tech, and consumer internet scaling their usage year after year. With millions of interviews processed and usage continually increasing within customers, Metaview is quickly becoming the AI partner of choice for teams hiring at scale.”
The company secured a £4.5m funding round back in late 2021.
