The BeOS-inspired Haiku open-source operating system project just published a new status report to detail how they ended out the year.
During the month of December they updated their FreeBSD driver compatibility layer against FreeBSD 15.0 that released at the start of the month. With that the Haiku OS developers then updated all of their Ethernet and WiFi drivers from FreeBSD to align with the FreeBSD 15.0 release.
December also brought many application fixes for Haiku, improved support for Elantech touchpads, mouse driver improvements, work toward resizing support in the BFS file-system driver, and various other improvements.
As for the next beta release of Haiku, they are still working toward the beta six milestone. Before hitting Haiku Beta 6 they still need to fix some regressions but will hopefully begin the release process in the next month or two.
