Rumors, there has been a lot for a long time since recently and more for a few days. And it is ultimately in these days of strong heat that Nothing has just formalized not only his very first audio helmet, the Headphone (1)but also its new high -end smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3). The formalization took place in London, on the very lands of Nothing and if we find the spirit of the English brand, this new Phone (3) Mark a turning point with more rational choices but probably more useful for the end consumer. As we will have understood, with an ultra competitive market, Nothing will have a lot to do at the start of the summer to impose its new smartphone, especially with the arrival shortly of the new folding smartphones from Samsung or even future Google pixel which should point the nose next August.

If we find philosophy Nothingdesign is somewhat different with a new way of using technology Glyph which was the trademark of the English manufacturer. So beware, as we planned, it is not the revolution either, but we welcome these small developments with open arms which can only bring new experiences to the user. Moreover, the community around the brand has never been so strong and Nothing counts well on word of mouth to take a significant part of the cake.

A design made of emotions

When we discover the Nithing Phone (3) for the first time, we can only be surprised by his atypical back. Indeed, we already notice the photo block which is always composed of three cameras but which are positioned in such an atypical way compared to the competition. It is above all a choice on design and it must be recognized that this allows Nothing to offer a well differentiating smartphone compared to the competition. It is true that apart from manufacturers like Apple, Samsung or Google, the others of Chinese origin have trouble differentiating themselves. So good point for Nothing and its design.

But that’s not all since next to the three cameras, there is a small monochrome circular screen that replaces the glyph interface. So for those who do not remember it, glyph technology, it was a set of LEDs on the back which allowed the user to recognize a notification or an action without having to return his smartphone. Exit therefore the glyph, here is the matrix glyph which is none other than a small circular screen composed of large pixels and which will allow notifications, calls or even mini-games without having to return its smartphone.

So yes, it’s still as a gadget but the advantage of this small screen is that it makes it easier to recognize the functions that Nothing wishes to highlight. It’s really a new way to understand your notification technology initiated by glyph. BIEN of course, this is not new in itself. Nothing is not the first and we already knew this technology on certain smartphones like the Rog Phone of Asus. On the other hand, while on the smartphones of the Taiwanese manufacturer, it had above all an aesthetic function, at Nothing, we plan to bring real little more with an integration into the house overlay, Nothing OS.

2025 obliges, we have flat slices and a flat back. The back is obviously made of glass with this rendering which gives the impression that we have access to the interior of the smartphone even if we do not see much in the end. Suddenly, with the Glyph Matrix, Nothing has added a small haptic button that allows you to change the different functions of the Matrix glyph. Practical. We will finally note a small red LED that allows you to know when you launch a video recording or not. Practical. The finish is, as always, exemplary and we find in the end a very tech -oriented design which should appeal to the most technophile of us. It was not said above but the cameras are integrated into the chassis of the smartphone and not on a plate like other competitors. As with Samsung, it should finally be noted that the objectives stand out a little.

Qualcomm: It can only be left!

Until today, if Nithing smartphones were well thought out, we stayed in the world of mid -range smartphones. Nothing Phone (3) represents a new chapter for the British manufacturer. Also, it is really the brand’s first high -end smartphone. Suddenly, if we do not find the best SOC on the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 remains a high -end processor and it should ensure as well as the best of Snapdragon, especially in terms of daily life. According to Nothing, there is a 36% gain on the CPU and more than 88% on the GPU. From our rapid handling in London, we have been able to realize the general fluidity which can be due to the Soc of Qualcomm but also to the overlay, Nothing OS, which is always particularly successful, especially in the graphical interface. We are impatient to test the phone (3) in the long term. Finally, note a 5150mAh silicon-carbon battery which should easily provide two full days, according to Nothing. Likewise, there is a quick recharge of 65W which allows you to recharge the smartphone from 0 to 50% in just 19 minutes.

Photo and video

On the photo and video side, we are finally entitled to a trio of cameras with obviously a standard large angle, an ultra-angle and a telephoto. As it is often fashion lately, it is the telephoto that will serve as a macro camera. All cameras have a 50 megapixel sensor and of course, that of the Grand Angle Standard offers a larger format for better performance in low light. All cameras are also able to save 4K videos at 60 FPS. Ditto for the front camera which has a 50 megapixel sensor and which allows you to film in 4K.

Because it is a high -end smartphone, we know that the photo remains the nerve of war and we will wait to test it more at length before pronouncing.

Essential Space, l’IA selon Nothing

As was already the case with the Nothing Phone (3A), we find this new “Essential Key” button, just below the power button that will not launch the camera as on an iPhone but a whole new function, “the Essential Space”. Basically, it is with this button that we will capture with one click everything that interests us and with the help of the AI, the smartphone will be able to classify everything and facilitate the view of the information saved. It is still in “early access” and it is difficult to decide after only a few weeks, it will be necessary to use it a little longer and to see if it is a real advance or not?

For AI, we obviously find Gemini but Nothing offers new functions like the “Flip to Record” which allows you to launch a vocal recording very quickly and therefore no longer miss any professional conversations if necessary. But that’s not all since Nothing launches its search engine in turn, “Essential Search”, which will look for all its smartphone and online. As would be expected, this engine is boosted at AI and it will evolve according to the updates offered by Nothing but also according to the contents of the user.
