Here’s when the 7,000 mAh gaming champ RedMagic 11 Air will be aired globally

Gaming phones are super hot these days! Real soon, there’ll be another high-end handset for gamers that’ll make it globally: the RedMagic 11 Air (that we told you about recently).

Mark the date

The global variant of the RedMagic 11 Air will be announced on January 29 (12:00 UTC), which is a bit more than a week away from today.

It’s expected that the global variant will be the same as the China-exclusive RedMagic 11 Air, which is a relief, frankly speaking. It’s not unusual for a global variant to differ in terms of hardware from its homeland sibling, and users outside China often get a device with slightly downgraded specs. For a serious gaming phone – what the RedMagic 11 Air undoubtedly is – such a move would be really bad, since gamers crave high-end specs above all.

What’s it like?

Since the RedMagic 11 Air is already live in China, that’s not a hard question to answer.Under the hood, there’s the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset – true, that’s not the “latest and greatest” by Qualcomm (that would be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5). But given that even the Elite’s predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is still considered mighty good, you won’t find much to complain about with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
More importantly, the new Air model incorporates its own Redcore R4 esports chip. Like other gaming chips, the R4 supports super-resolution and frame-generation features, but it offers a broader and more advanced set of capabilities. It can ease graphics workloads in demanding games, while also managing touch optimization and lighting control to deliver faster response, greater stability and improved power efficiency.

For ultimate speed, the RedMagic 11 Air also includes LPDDR5X type of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Next, there’s a large 6.85-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, paired with an under-display front camera to maintain an uninterrupted viewing area and slim bezels. Display comfort is addressed through high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming.

Gaming-focused hardware includes pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers and an advanced thermal solution that combines multiple cooling materials (including a 4D vapor chamber) with an active fan to manage sustained performance. That’s among the most important things about the RedMagic 11 Air.

Power is supplied by a massive 7,000 mAh battery that supports ultra-fast 120W wired charging and bypass charging to limit heat during extended sessions.

You’ll be noticed with it

Since this is a RedMagic phone we’re talking about here, the new 11 Air is not a stealth device. With a transparent design and an RGB-lit cooling fan on the back, it leans fully into its gaming-first identity.
