SOME top retailers are already preparing for the spooky season this year, with candy and decorations now on sale at low prices.

The Home Depot, Target, and Walmart are just some of several brands listing Halloween merchandise in August.

It all comes as part of what’s been dubbed “Summerween” by some consumers, as product drops for the October holiday seem to get earlier and earlier every year.

While some may choose to hold off on any purchases until Halloween gets closer, it would be worth giving some items a second look.

Retailers typically list candy and decorations for the most budget-friendly prices right now, while October 31 is still months away.

Target has plenty of candy listed for as low as $4.

The Airheads Mini Bars Gusset Bags Chewy Candy is $3.99 online.

Value bags for trick-or-treating, like the Tootsie Pops Candy Assorted Flavor Standup Bag and Tootsie Fruit Chews Candy Standup Bag are only $4.59 and $8.29, respectively.

Even 10-ounce Twix and Milky Way Fun Size bags are $4.99 each.

The retail giant also has decorations for discounts as high as 57%, including the Joyfy Halloween Inflatable Witch Outdoor Decoration with Built-In LEDs at $29.99.

Even the Bluey Airblown Inflatable in Vampire Costume is $52.99.

More decorations and candy for low costs can be found on Target’s website.

HOME DEPOT AND WALMART

The Home Depot is also known for its Halloween decorations.

It’s Skelly decoration has been a hit for years, and in 2025 there’s a new version called the Ultra Skelly with LifeEyes for $279.

Ultra Skelly can be controlled through a mobile application, has various movements, and can even speak with voice-changing effects.

Except, it’s a bit smaller at 6.5 feet than the classic Skelly, which stands at a whopping 12 feet.

Halloween dupes

There are several Halloween dupes to help you celebrate on a budget.

Other outdoor decorations at Home Depot are even taller at 15 feet, like the Galley-Crow for $399.

Walmart even has “porch-perfect” Halloween decor starting at $10 this month.

A Light-Up Beware Sign featuring a pumpkin, black cat, and ghost is only $19.88 on the retail giant’s website.

More advanced decorations like the Haunted Hill Farm Animatronic Witch with Broomstick are $69.99.

POTTERY BARN AND TJ MAXX

Pottery Barn also released The Halloween Shop lineup of decor items.

The Lit Ghost Collection of outdoor decorations range from $49 to $149.

There’s also Jack-O-Lantern Stoneware Icon Mugs that come in a set of two for just $25.

Those looking to cozy up and watch a scary movie can also get the Doug the Dog Ghost Fair Isle Knit Jacquard Throw Blanket for $99.

It’s best not to forget TJ Maxx, too, as it also dropped hundreds of Halloween items.

The Martha Stewart Ghost and Pumpkin Pillow is only $24.99 and the Sand and Fog Skull Haunted Harvest Hand Soap is only $6.99 per bottle.

Shoppers should also look out for the Spooky Night LED Headless Soldier With Jack O Lantern lamp at $34.99 and Martha Stewart LED Skeleton Clock Decor for $34.99 if they want a spooky environment at home.

Dollar General shoppers also spoke out recently about the truth behind “Summerween” as the discount chain “pushes merchandise” through store shelves.

A Halloween specialty retailer also canceled its “grand opening” for the first time in four years.
