It’s officially October, which means not only is fall in full swing now, but it’s also time for Amazon Prime members to take advantage of the opportunity to claim free Kindle e-books once again.

Every month, Amazon offers free Kindle e-books to Prime members through its First Reads program, which features a curated selection of new Kindle e-books across various genres. The program refreshes with new titles on the first day of each month, and as a Prime member in October, you have all month long to claim two free Kindle e-books from this collection. Once you claim your two free Kindle e-books, they’re yours to keep, so if you’re looking to expand your Kindle library (and your reading backlog), this is an easy way to do that.

If you’re not a Prime member, you’ll need to pay for the books instead of getting them for free. However, if you’re interested in trying Prime, now is a good time to check if a free trial is available. Not only can you claim the free Kindle e-books then, but you can also take advantage of the Prime Big Deals Day sale happening on October 7 and 8. You can check out the First Reads program for your free Kindle e-books and Amazon Prime below.

For October, Amazon’s First Reads program is offering 10 different Kindle e-books to choose from. What I like about First Reads is the variety of genres represented in the collection, so hopefully, there’s something that catches your eye. A few of this month’s genres include historical fiction, science fiction, romance, and crime.

Here is the full list of titles Amazon is offering this October for First Reads:

  • What She Saw (Genre: Police Procedural)
  • The Night Guests (Genre: Historical Fiction)
  • 3 Days, 9 Months, 27 Years (Genre: Science Fiction)
  • Chasing Stardust (Genre: Women’s Fiction)
  • The Fix (Genre: Romance Thriller)
  • The Kidnapping of Alice Ingold (Genre: Crime)
  • Best Day Ever (Genre: Children’s Picture Book)
  • More Than Nothing (Genre: Contemporary Romance)
  • The Restoration Garden (Genre: Book Club fiction)
  • The Moor Witch (Genre: Fantasy Romance)

Remember, as a Prime member this month, you’re able to choose two of the 10 books listed above to receive for free. If you’re not a Prime member, you can still browse the books and select two titles, but you’ll have to pay $2 for each one, rather than it being free.

You have until the end of the month to claim October’s two free Kindle e-books as a Prime member, as they will be replaced with new books to choose from on November 1.
