To excel in elite sport, it pays to dedicate as much effort to media training as actual training. If you can do hours of press without ever really saying a thing, the fame, the money and the adulation will roll in. There are precious few exceptions, and in this vacuous modern era, no elite athlete has broken the mould quite like Naomi Osaka.

You can watch “Naomi Osaka: The Second Set” online from anywhere with a VPN — and potentially for FREE.

‘Naomi Osaka: The Second Set’ — Date, time, TV channels, free stream

“Naomi Osaka: The Second Set” premieres on Sunday, August 24.

🌎 Use a VPN to watch from abroad — try NordVPN 100% risk-free

With a 1hr 41min runtime, “Naomi Osaka: The Second Set” is a feature-length documentary logging her tennis comeback after giving birth to her first child. Osaka stepped away from the sport in October 2022, welcomed her daughter Shai into the world in July 2023, and returned to the court in January 2024.

For years, the public has bemoaned the mind-numbing inanity of sports press conferences, yet when Osaka — at that point a four-time grand slam champion — tried to swerve them during the 2021 French Open for the sake of her mental health, she became the target of a vicious smear campaign. With her mental health spiraling, Osaka subsequently pulled out of Wimbledon, and she’s been a red rag to a bull for the mainstream media ever since.

So it was no surprise that she was once again given both barrels when she announced her pregnancy, with journalists and pundits jostling to declare that her career was over. The irony, of course, is that Osaka brought mental health into the mainstream. Now, public figures are routinely lauded for opening up about their psychological struggles — but not Osaka. It’s also instructive that there are several other players on the WTA circuit who are lionized for being mothers — but not Osaka.

Since her return she’s beaten top stars Karolina Muchova, Caroline Garcia and Jelena Ostapenko at majors, and Elina Svitolina, Yulia Putintseva, Daria Kasatkina and Ons Jabeur away from the limelight as part of the grind.

Read on as we explain how to watch “Naomi Osaka: The Second Set” online from anywhere, including free options.

How to watch ‘Naomi Osaka: The Second Set’ from abroad

Away from home at the moment and blocked from watching “Naomi Osaka: The Second Set”? As Tubi isn’t available globally, you might not be able to access it when you go abroad.

You can still connect to your home services, however, thanks to the wonders of a VPN (Virtual Private Network). The software allows your devices to appear as if they’re back in your home country regardless of where in the world you are. Ideal for when you’re away on vacation or on business. Our favorite is NordVPN – and you can find out why in our NordVPN review.

Using a VPN is incredibly simple.

1. Install the VPN of your choice. As we’ve said, NordVPN is our favorite.

2. Choose the location you wish to connect to in the VPN app. For instance if you’re in Canada and want to view a U.S. service, you’d select U.S. from the list.

3. Sit back and enjoy the action. Head to Tubi to watch “Naomi Osaka: The Second Set” for free.
