Huawei has officially launched HarmonyOS 6 after months of developer testing, opening large-scale public beta access for over 90 device models. The update marks a major step in integrating AI agents and expanding cross-ecosystem connectivity with Apple devices.

The system introduces the new Harmony Intelligent Agent Framework (HMAF), allowing developers to build interactive, decision-making agents without dedicated algorithm teams or high R&D costs. Huawei said more than 80 AI agents are now available through the Xiaoyi Intelligent Agent Hub — the system’s built-in marketplace for AI-powered mini apps — covering scenarios such as travel, healthcare, and productivity. HarmonyOS 6 also enables near-field file transfers with iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices, part of Huawei’s broader push to improve interoperability across ecosystems. [TechNode reporting]
