Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the indie app world. If you’re a developer and would like your app featured, get in contact.

Everyone, at least in the United States, likely feels a need to improve their fitness and health – but doesn’t quite know how to. Or, if they have, they end up losing motivation and then give up because they don’t want to feel bad. I’m sure we’ve all heard the stat that most New Years resolutions are to go to the gym more, and most people give up after just a couple weeks. FitWoody flips the script.

FitWoody is an all encompassing fitness app that doesn’t make you feel bad. It listens to your body, learns your habits, and adapts your experience to help you build real, meaningful habits – all based off of your data in Apple Health.

Top features

Rather than having a fixed goal that you generally build a streak towards, FitWoody adapts to your needs to keep you feel motivated. It takes in your sleep data, heart rate, and energy to tailor your goals to you. Rather than establishing lofty fitness goals that you may have to struggle towards, FitWoody meets you where you are – that way you establish healthy habits.

As mentioned earlier, FitWoody relies on data from Apple Health – meaning you’ll need an Apple Watch or other fitness tracker that syncs with Apple Health. Using this data, it provides its adaptive daily goals, sleep analysis, and metabolic analysis – all things that aren’t necessarily clear by just reading data in Apple Health.

There’s another nifty feature called FitPassport, which summarizes everything the app knows about you into a single digital health card.

It also has a fantastic new Liquid Glass design, and utilizes Apple Foundational Models in iOS 26.

Download the app

FitWoody is available on the App Store for devices running iOS 18 and later. It offers a 1 month free trial, and will cost $34.99/year afterwards for the full app experience.

All in all, if you want a fitness app that understands you, rather than just spitting numbers at you, then you should give FitWoody a try. During the onboarding, it asks you a number of helpful questions about how you feel about your health. Health goals shouldn’t be something you give up on, and FitWoody is an incredible tool for helping you understand your body.
