Most people want to eat healthier, but knowing where to start can always be a challenge. Grano aims to bridge that gap, by allowing you to easily scan barcodes of foods you’re buying, and creating a unique scoring system based on your dietary goals – allowing you to find the foods you need, before you even purchase them.
Top features
Grano is an incredibly useful tool for those trying to cut calories. It scans barcodes, creates a personalized score for you, and breaks down what’s actually in your food by dietary group. It also provides a detailed breakdown of the ingredients – explaining any potential additives, allergens, and how processed it is.
With all of this information, it forms your GranoScore – which is tailored based on your dietary profile. Something that’s good for you might not be good for a young child, for example.
Lastly, it also provides healthier alternatives for the barcodes you scan, just in case you’re looking for something better. This can particularly be useful if you scan an item, see you’re allergic to an ingredient, and can’t buy it.

Grano is available for free on the App Store for iPhones running iOS 16.4 and later. You get 10 daily scans for free – and if you want the full experience (for features like tailoring your dietary profile), you’ll need Grano+, which allows you to pick your own price, starting as low as $2/month or $18/year.
