There’s a new M5 iPad Pro expected to launch this fall, but the latest rumor today is all about the model after that, which could bring a notable design change: drastically slimmer bezels.

New iPad Pro design will have thin bezels like Samsung Tab Ultra

Today on Weibo, leaker Instant Digital posted about a future iPad Pro model in the works.

He says the bezels around the iPad Pro will get drastically thinner, roughly the same size as those of the Samsung Tab Ultra.

Importantly, the new iPad Pro will have thin bezels but not include a notch—which Samsung’s tablet does have.

Here’s Samsung’s tablet:

The bezels are clearly much thinner than that of Apple’s current M4 models.

Apple isn’t expected to ship the new, reduced-bezel design with its next update. Instead, the M5 iPad Pro should look largely identical to the M4 models from last year.

But the new design will likely be included on the next model that ships, presumably an M6 or M7 iPad Pro.

Considering the iPad Pro went several years between notable design changes prior to the M4 refresh, getting a fresh look so soon would be a nice change of pace.
