APPLE has revealed there is a “very rare” glitch that may appear on some iPhone 17 devices as they go on sale today.

The tech giant’s latest iPhone 17 models finally hit shelves, as well as a mega thin iPhone Air.

A reviewer for CNN flagged an imaging problem when testing the new devices out this week.

The reporter claimed that one out of every 10 or so photos he took on the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max models had “small blacked-out portions” on the image such as “boxes and parts of white squiggles”.

Apple has responded to the publication, admitting it is an issue that can happen in “very rare” cases “when an LED light display is extremely bright and shining directly into the camera”.

If anyone does notice any such problems it shouldn’t be around too long as Apple has already figured out a way to resolve it.

“Apple has identified a fix and will be releasing it in an upcoming software update,” a rep said.

Queues formed outside major Apple Stores across the globe on Friday morning as eager iPhone fans sought to get their hands on the new devices first.

Among those was Michael Issott, 24, from Bournemouth, who said: “I get the new iPhone every year, so it’s became a bit of a habit.”

Mr Issott told PA he has been getting the latest device annually for four years, adding that the release day tends to fall around his birthday.

“Tomorrow it’s my birthday so I tell myself it’s a treat, it’s a birthday present,” he said.

There are four new iPhones this year, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air.

The iPhone Air is Apple’s thinnest mobile ever that the firm says is “more durable than any previous iPhone”.

The Sun’s Head of Tech and Science Sean Keach reviewed the handset and called it a “classy, brilliant and very slim iPhone that delivers the great Apple experience you expect”.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 models feature a number of upgrades to battery, performance, as well as a refreshed design, namely to the camera set-up on the back.

Apple also shocked the world with a bold new colour – orange.

On reviewing the Pro models, Sean Keach said it is “one of the most finely crafted pieces of technology on the planet”.
