HBO Max looks likely to merge with Paramount+ later this year, so things are a bit nebulous at the streaming service. It still has plenty to watch every week, so here’s our picks for the best shows to catch, plus everything new streaming below. This week brings back a beloved comedy for a much-delayed third season, along with some other worthwhile content.

The Comeback: Season 3 (March 22)
One of the most interesting things about HBO is their willingness to let shows breathe. We first met Lisa Kudrow as washed-up sitcom actress Valerie Cherish in the first season of The Comeback, which aired in 2005. The second season? 2014. And now it’s 2026 and we’re finally getting a third. Valerie steps into the streaming era with a new show, but it’s written by AI. Don’t put it past them!
Iyanu: Season 2A (March 22)
HBO Max is one of the best streaming services for original animation, with the Adult Swim library, the DC original movies, and more to enjoy. Inspired by the Yoruba people of western Africa, Iyanu is a Cartoon Network adventure series that has something to enjoy for all audiences. It’s beautifully drawn, has a rich and interesting cast, and plenty of worldbuilding and mysteries to be revealed. It’s too soon to see if it’ll be an all-time classic like Avatar: The Last Airbender, but the potential is definitely there.
Boom Box: Beats and Betrayal (March 26)
We don’t know much about four-episode docuseries Boom Box: Beats and Betrayal, but the logline is definitely fascinating. It dives into the case of a London recording studio that would bring in aspiring rappers, get them dazzled by the prospect of money and fame, and then con them into participating in a gun smuggling ring that had them taking all the risks. Little did they know that the whole operation was run by undercover cops.
