Kroger told to ‘do better’ as shoppers left with no groceries

KROGER shoppers have blasted the grocery chain in scathing complaints about its food delivery service.

Customers have taken to social media to vent their frustration at the store’s deliveries.

They have complained of missed delivery times and forgotten items in their posts.

Others slammed the chain’s customer service department, accusing them of being unhelpful when raising complaints.

One user posted on X: “I’ve been waiting for my 11-Noon delivery for over six hours now.

“Called Customer Service three times and each time they lied to me indicating I was the next stop and it should only be 20 minutes.

“The ONLY reason I order from Kroger is the delivery. HELP!”

The customer tagged the store in their tweet – and their spokesperson replied to say they were “eager to assist”.

“I’m sorry to hear about your inconvenience, and I truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention,” they said.

Another customer posted on X that Kroger’s delivery service had “started good”.

But they added: “Now it sucks.

“Bread gets squashed, forgotten items, bad produce and missing delivery times.”

A Kroger spokesperson responded to say: “We’re sorry to hear you that have unpleasant experience with your recent order.”

But the user replied: “It’s more than a recent order. It’s been several.

“Just pass the word and do better. Thank you for responding.”

It comes after the supermarket giant confirmed that one of its stores scheduled for closure has shut its doors for the last time.

The Kroger store on Morosgo Way in the Lindbergh area of northeast Atlanta ended up closing two days earlier than originally planned.

It was one of four stores set to close in metro Atlanta.

A Kroger spokesperson previously said: “Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close four stores in the metro area.

“While we are leaving these locations, we will offer each impacted associate the opportunity to transfer to a new location.

“This closure is part of a larger company-wide decision to run more efficiently and ensure the long-term health of our business.”
