@SaudiAndroid has posted images of a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra model. At first blush, the phone looks like the real deal, but closer inspection suggests it’s a dummy unit. Regardless, the images provide a realistic preview of the upcoming phone.

New rear design

Smartphone dummy units are created by accessory manufacturers to test their products. We have seen quite a few Galaxy S26 Ultra mock-ups before, but this one looks a tad more refined. As expected, the device now has a pill-shaped camera island for three of the four rear sensors. Compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the camera bump looks massive. This is primarily due to the phone’s reduced thickness rather than larger sensors.

The replica seemingly depicts the phone in Silver Shadow, one of the five rumored hues.

The official phone is likely to have slightly more rounded corners than the dummy unit.

Launching soon

Reports claim that the Galaxy S26 will be unveiled on February 25 and go on sale on March 11. With around a month left to go, we expect official marketing material to leak soon.

The updated design could be one of the main selling points of the phone, which is tipped to bring many meaningful changes, but a few major hardware overhauls. For instance, while the camera hardware may remain largely the same, the phone will take more natural-looking images, addressing complaints about over-processing.

The phone will likely also natively support Qi2, improving charger alignment and enabling compatibility with snap-on accessories.

Another interesting feature is a privacy display, which would ensure that screen content is visible only when viewed head-on.

Pricing dilemma

Samsung is facing a dilemma. While the company fears a price hike might drive customers to switch to Apple or Chinese rivals, it has acknowledged that continuously rising component prices may necessitate a repricing. Samsung won’t be alone in implementing a price increase, though, with reports suggesting even the iPhone 18 will go up in price.

If the price does go up, it may impact demand for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, unless the device offers a truly compelling reason to upgrade.
