Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld is about to get a more console-like interface.

The company has confirmed that Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) will soon arrive on its Windows-based gaming handhelds. This update will bring an Xbox-style UI designed specifically for portable play.

The update isn’t rolling out widely just yet. Instead, Lenovo has opened early testing for Legion Go users. This allows owners of both the Legion Go and Legion Go 2 to sign up and try the feature before the full release. Participants can register through the Gleam page. Those selected will receive instructions on how to install and enable the new interface.

Microsoft first introduced the Xbox Full Screen Experience in June 2025, debuting on the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds. The interface replaces the typical Windows desktop view with a simplified console-style layout built around controllers. This makes it easier to browse games, launch apps, and manage libraries without navigating traditional Windows menus.

Lenovo’s Senior Global Gaming Manager Ben Green confirmed the upcoming rollout in a recent post. He noted that early testing will help the company gather feedback and iron out issues before the feature becomes widely available.

For users who spend most of their time gaming on the Legion Go, the new interface could make the experience feel far more console-like. Instead of booting into the standard Windows environment, the Xbox Full Screen Experience prioritises quick access to games and services. It does this with a layout similar to what you’d find on an Xbox console.

If you want to try it early, you’ll need to update your handheld to the latest system software before installing the preview. The Gleam sign-up page suggests the current entry window will stay open for roughly two days. After that, Lenovo will begin selecting participants for the testing phase.

Lenovo hasn’t shared a firm release date for the wider rollout yet. However, the start of early testing suggests the Xbox-style interface could arrive on Legion Go devices sooner rather than later.
