It’s on offer right now at Currys, down to £269 from its original £299 price, which was already decent value for money.

The LG UA73 model comes in several different sizes, but this particular is on the 50-inch unit.

However, the other TV sizes are also discounted, so you could bag the even cheaper 43-inch model for just £229.

Here’s how much you’ll pay for each:

  • 43-inch – £229 (was £249)
  • 50-inch – £269 (was £299)
  • 55-inch – £329 (was £349)
  • 65-inch – £409 (was £449)

This particular model has a 4K Ultra HD display, which means you get north of 8 million pixels.

That means you can watch 4K content in its native resolution, offering the potential for much greater detail.

Just make sure that if you’re using a plug-in streamer like an Amazon Fire Stick, that it’s also a 4K model.

If you’re trying to watch something that isn’t Ultra HD, there’s a 4K Super Upscaling feature that artificially boosts the resolution of the content.

Just note that it won’t be as high-quality as content that was actually produced in 4K.

LG’s TV runs on the webOS platform, and gives you access to popular telly apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV.

There’s also support for Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, ITVx, 4, 5, Paramount+, Now, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Spotify.

It also supports HDR (or High Dynamic Range) content, which delivers improved contrast and a wider range of colours.

That includes HDR formats like HDR10 and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG).

You’ve got several different picture modes including Vivid, Standard, Cinema, Sports, and Game.

And there’s also Filmmaker Mode, which is a special setting designed to show movies as their directors intended.

The TV has three HDMI 2.0 ports on the back, so you could plug in several devices, including a Sky box, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, and an Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo Switch 2.
