Libreboot 25.06 released this week as the newest version of this Coreboot downstream focused on shipping only with free and open-source components. But due to the strict open-source nature of Libreboot, it continues to primarily see support for long outdated platforms.
With Libreboot 25.06 there is support for two platforms: the Acer Q45T-AM and Dell Precision T1700 SFF and MT systems. The Acer Q45T-AM motherboard employs the Intel Q45 chipset for this LGA-775 platform and designed for long-outdated Core 2 processors. The Dell Precision T1700 isn’t quite as bad but still mostly a museum piece or memory in the distant past with being a Haswell era system. In 2025 mostly useful if you are just demanding strict free software requirements for your system and can find a Dell Precision T1700 used for a very cheap price but otherwise remains a very tough sale like most of the other supported devices by Libreboot.
Libreboot 25.06 also ships with updates to components like GRUB and SeaBIOS and U-Boot. Libreboot 25.06 additionally has a variety of fixes and other code changes.
