The beta release of Linux Mint 22.3 “Zena” is now available for testing ahead of the holidays for this latest incremental update to this desktop OS built atop an Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base.

Linux Mint 22.3 continues to be based on the existing Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base while pulling in Linux Mint’s newly-released Cinnamon 6.6 desktop. Cinnamon 6.6 brings a redesigned application menu with a new layout, a template manager for Nemo, improved support for keyboard layouts and input methods, support for pausing and resuming file manager file operations, better search accuracy in the file manager, notification improvements, and a variety of other refinements to the Cinnamon desktop.
