TIRED of spending so much on TV subscriptions? There are some clever ways to bag totally free telly from top brands.
The cost of TV subscriptions keeps rising, but it doesn’t mean you have to bear the full cost or go without telly.
Here are some ways that you might already be owed some top free TV streaming subscriptions.
DISNEY+
Sadly Disney+ doesn’t offer a free trial, but there is a way to get it for free.
It’s available to specific Lloyds Bank customers who can choose it as one of their benefits.
You need to have an active Club Lloyds account to claim the perk.

Once you choose the benefit, you’ll receive an activation link over email to claim your free membership.
The bad news is that you can’t upgrade this free account to Standard or Premium.
So keep that in mind if you’re trying to claim the freebie on your main Disney+ account.

APPLE TV+
There are a few ways to get Apple TV for free.
The first is the free trial, which nets you seven days of telly.
It’s not much, but you could use it to watch a season or two of a show or a few movies.
The second way is available to students.
If you’re enrolled at a degree-granting university then you can get an Apple Music Student plan.
That gets you Apple Music for up to 48 months at a monthly price of £5.99 – well below the usual £10.99 fee.
But what many people miss is that this deal also includes free access to Apple TV+.
Just go to the Apple Music app, then go into Home > Trial Offer > Student > Verify Eligibilty.
Once you’ve claimed the student plan then you’ll get Apple TV automatically.
The third method is available to anyone who has recently bought a qualifying Apple gadget.
You can get three months of Apple TV when you buy a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac.
It’s not available for current Apple TV subscribers, and you can’t combine it with other free trials or offers, or with Apple One.
You just need to claim the deal within three months of first setting up your device. Handy if you’ve just bought a posh new iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air.
Just head into the Apple TV app and your offer should be right there waiting for you.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SIGN UP FOR APPLE MUSIC STUDENT SUBSCRIPTION
Here’s what you’ll need before you subscribe, according to Apple…
“You must be a student studying a foundation degree, bachelor’s degree, post-graduate degree or equivalent higher education course at a university or college,” Apple explains.
And you’ll need the following:
- Make sure you know your Apple Account email address or phone number and password.
- You need a valid payment method added to your Apple Account.
- Make sure you know your student ID and can access your student email to verify your student status.

And lastly, if someone else in your household is paying for Apple TV+ then you can get it for free too.
They can use the Family Sharing feature with up to five other family members.
And it means you’ll get to watch on your personal account with its own watch history and recommendations.
NETFLIX
If you’re a Sky TV customer then you get Netflix for free as standard.
It’s literally as simple as loading up Netflix on your Sky TV, signing in, and linking your account.
Sky will give you the most basic version of Netflix, but it’s a freebie nonetheless.
However, what people often miss is the fact that you don’t have to just stick with this basic version of Netflix.
You can actually upgrade to a fancier version of Netflix and then simply pay the difference.
That way, you’re getting the Netflix plan you want but still receiving Sky’s freebie.
But that’s not all: Sky customers can also bag two other streaming services.
Sky TV customers are also eligible to claim free Discovery+.
Again, it’s a fairly simple process. Just load up the app on your Sky telly, and then log in, link your Sky account, and enjoy.
With both of these TV apps, once you’ve linked your accounts, you can then watch them on other devices.
You just need to get set up via Sky and then you can download the mobile apps and watch there instead.
