The Miami County visitor’s office learns how to use AI in their favor by using a software called Placer.ai.
“We feel really good to go in the second year that we can make better informed decisions about how you can best market Miami County as a travel destination,” said Leiann Stewart, executive director of the Vistor’s Bureau.

Since events are hosted in Miami County, the software uses data from mobile phones to learn where visitors come from and where they spend their money.
“All those things that we would like to know when we are evaluating a visit to our communities,” said Stewart.
Stewart showed how they can filter through the information.
Lock 9 Park in Piqua, for example, organizes concerts in the summer. When Stewart sees a large group that constantly comes to those concerts from Springfield, they can focus on their marketing.
Stewart said that the information comes from your phone and that the software does not receive personal information from visitors.
