Booking rooms, detailed insights into space use and solving problems in meeting rooms without having to be there yourself
Leusden, May 21, 2024 – Today Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) introduced new software to help companies with complex space management. The Logitech Sync expansion includes software for booking entire rooms, gaining detailed insights into how rooms are used, and automation to make room and equipment management easier. The introduction of these features comes as IT teams increasingly struggle to maintain control over space management, which is becoming increasingly complex.
“The complexity of meeting rooms has increased, while IT teams have not kept pace,” says Henry Levak, VP of Product at Logitech B2B. “Logitech Sync aims to give IT departments optimal control again. Think of Logitech Sync as a central place to closely monitor “Houston, we have a problem” moments and resolve those issues virtually, regardless of distance.”
Complete space management via one dashboard
With Logi Dock Flex, Logitech introduced a solution for booking desks last year, making it a piece of cake for employees to reserve the right place next to their direct colleagues in flexible working environments. Now Logitech is extending this line to entire rooms. The new software for booking rooms via Tap Scheduler follows the same intuitive path, avoiding conflicts that can arise when booking meeting rooms. IT teams can also manage everything from a single platform.
The new software allows employees to book and claim an entire space directly from calendar apps such as Google WorkSpace and Office 365, or directly via the Logitech Tap Scheduler.
A system that adapts to the behavior of its users
If a reserved space has not been checked in, it will automatically be released and made available to others. For ad-hoc meetings, users can see at a glance whether a room is available using the LED status lights on Tap Scheduler. Users can also navigate a map to search for available spaces via the Logi Tune app, Tap Scheduler or office screens.
AI Viewfinder for Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini will be expanded in a future software update. Now this feature is used to frame people, but an ability to identify an ad-hoc meeting is added, after which the meeting room status automatically switches to ‘busy’.
IT administrators can adjust the booking of rooms and associated settings as desired, so that they can design a working method that is in line with the company’s policy. An update will also be released later this year to personalize the Tap Scheduler interface with custom wallpapers and imagery that showcases a company’s brand identity.
Remote troubleshooting
Tens of thousands of companies use Logitech Sync to remotely manage spaces and their employees’ devices, and the addition of Remote UI Access in Sync significantly expands these capabilities. An IT team member can virtually ‘take over’ an individual’s desktop to resolve issues remotely. Remote UI Access gives IT the ability to ‘see inside a meeting room’ to troubleshoot any issues with cameras, touch controllers or even the scheduling panel, without having to step foot in the same room. Logitech’s strict privacy and security standards ensure that Sync does not capture or record audio, video, or static images in a meeting room, at any time.
Decision making, supported by detailed data
From huddle rooms to boardrooms, Sync captures patterns of how spaces are used. Then consider the frequency (how often a room is used) and the occupancy in the room (the number of people in the room at a certain time). This eliminates guesswork. Data on space usage and occupancy is only visible to IT admins and forms a strong basis for precise decision-making. Based on this, companies can, for example, see which areas that are hardly used need to be overhauled or which high-traffic areas need to be duplicated.
Price and availability
Sync Remote UI Access, booking rooms, creating a map and gaining insights into room usage are features that expand the Logitech Select for Rooms service plan for 399 euros per year. Select for Rooms offers a combination of technical expertise and advanced software to help companies manage their spaces.
These premium features are also included in Essential for Rooms: a new service that complements the IT expertise of customers and partners with advanced management and analytics tools, for 199 euros per year. Space booking software is expected by the end of the summer. Register now for the open beta at sync.logitech.com.
