Valo is vying to be the first commercial aircraft to be built and designed in the UK for over 30 years.

Bristol-based creators Vertical Aerospace is expected to create over 2,000 high-skilled UK jobs and contribute £3billion annually to the economy by 2035, according to a recent report.

The company’s latest model features a premium cabin for four passengers with panoramic windows. Its flexible design allows owners to expand to six seats.

There’s space for six cabin bags and six checked bags, in a bid to attract those looking for a quick and hassle-free escape from the airport and city centres.

It’s built on the successes of the VX4 prototype test aircraft.

Bosses previously told The Sun its air taxis could slash hour-long car journey times to just 11 minutes.

Now they’re showing off a full-scale model of the new Valo model today at an event in London’s Canary Wharf hosted by Claudia Winkleman, 53.

“Valo is the aircraft that turns electric flight into a commercial reality – clean, quiet, fast and engineered for everyday service,” said Vertical Aerospace chief Stuart Simpson.

“It marks a new dawn in transport, one that will connect people in minutes, not hours.”

Bosses are also hoping the aircraft can be used to help emergency medical services, cargo missions and even defence missions in the future.

There are still some major hurdles to overcome before people will start taking to the skies.

Vertical Aerospace says it’s now close to getting a pilot to vertically lift and move Valo forward.

They are in the process of seeking important airline-level safety certification by 2028 before it can be used by the public.
