Self -driving cars have been a hot topic in Automotive News, especially with Tesla’s Robotaxi.
A Morgan Stanley analyst gave Tesla’s guided full self -driving software a glowing assessment after a 1400 miles return trip from New York to Michigan, Teslarati reported.
“Having your hands off the steering wheel and the feet of the pedals for almost 12 hours of driving is a real game change that is difficult to appreciate without experiencing it for yourself,” noted Adam Jonas.
For the trip, Jonas drove a model Y from 2021, and he said the car took care of 99% of the driving behavior. He also spoke strongly about Tesla’s superchargers for making the trip more efficient.
Jonas’ affirming words come in a tumultuous time for Tesla. With CEO Elon Musk’s polarizing political activities and actions, the image of the brand became a hit. Some consumers saw support for Tesla as an approval of Musk’s personal views, or as a stamp of approval about how he dealt with his role in the federal government or his disagreements with President Trump in the summer.
The company also had a few quarters. According to Reuters, the market share of Tesla was the lowest it had been since 2017 because the competition in the EV market rises.
Only a few days ago, however, Musk bought more than $ 1 billion in Tesla shares and sent shares to their highest value since January.
Autonomous vehicles, in particular the Robotaxi from Tesla, have received many mixed reviews. Some mention concerns about safety assessments and skepticism about the ability of artificial intelligence to respond. With the Robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, new regulations have moved human supervision from the passenger seat to the driver’s seat.
On the other hand, people report fast response times with the FSD software of their Tesla. The FSD system of a Tesla avoided an accident on the highway and the driver went to the social platform X and said they could not have responded so quickly.
This follows with the glowing review that Jonas gave. “FSD has not made any mistakes or closed calls that I remember. The system treats highways very safely and with confidence. I cannot imagine that I would buy another EV without FSD,” Jonas said, according to Teslarati.
Regardless of your position compared to autonomous vehicles, science generally supports electric vehicles as a strong, sustainable solution compared to traditional fuel vehicles.
