ZANESVILLE, OH – An important part of literacy in the 21st century is digital literacy.
Muskingum County Library System Digital Skills Assistant Librarian Kylie Bell has announced a training session teaching Excel, a basic software program offered by Microsoft.
“We’re doing a program called Excel Your Year. Tomorrow, December 23, at 4 p.m., a Microsoft Excel class at the New Concord Branch Library where we’ll work on creating a fun spreadsheet where you can track your goals, habits and ideas for 2026,” Bell said.
The program is an intermediate-level class intended for people who would like to get back into working with Excel. Digital literacy is becoming an essential part of the way literacy is taught to children and the way adults live their daily lives.
“The Muskingum County Library System offers a variety of digital skills classes for both beginners and advanced students to help strengthen digital skills and technology classes within the county. We help with a lot of different software from PowerPoint, Excel, Word to more specific software like Canva,” Bell said.
You must register for the one and a half hour Excel Your Year session. But if you can’t attend class or need extra help learning these digital skills, you can call the library for an in-person appointment.
