Meta starts the summer with three new smart sunglasses models. The company behind Facebook and Instagram presented its new collection of AI glasses at an event in New York City. They are now available in stores, including in Germany.
After collaborating with Ray-Ban: AI glasses without branding
After Meta previously worked with the sunglasses brands Ray-Ban and Oakley, among others, this time the new glasses appear without any branding, under the simple name Meta Glasses.

Meta also collaborated with the eye optics company on the new models Essilor-Luxottica, the parent company of Ray-Ban and Oakley. The Essilor-Luxottica logo is discreetly placed on the inside of the temples.
Entry-level model starts at $299 – Kylie Jenner’s glasses cost more
The biggest difference to the established glasses, which were created in collaboration with iconic brands, is the price. Two of the three new models cost $299. This makes them significantly cheaper than the second generation Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer, which currently costs around 500 euros.
The low price applies to the Meta Adventurer model, which is visually reminiscent of the classic Wayfarer from Ray-Ban. The Meta Fury with an angular frame also costs $299.
You have to pay $399 for the Meta Glasses by Kylie. The elegant, oval model was created in collaboration with the influencer Kylie Jenner. The three glasses come in different colors, different sizes and prescriptions. According to Meta, a total of 26 combinations are possible.
Muse Spark is preinstalled
Technically, the Meta Glasses have similar hardware and software to the previous models. Even the cheaper alternatives have cameras, microphones, speakers and an AI button.
As before, Meta does not have a display on the lens. Interaction with the AI continues via voice. The battery should last for more than eight hours.
What’s new is that the Muse Sparks AI model is pre-installed on the glasses. Meta introduced it in April of this year, as the first result of its billion-dollar investment in the AI company Scale AI.
