Microsoft has dropped a new voice-activated AI assistant created to provide help to healthcare professionals and doctors in order to transcribe clinical notes and draft paperwork. The latest healthcare AI tool is dubbed Dragon Copilot and is being offered as a part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare. It works on the natural language voice dictation and ambient listening technology developed by AI voice company Nuance.

This will also contribute to the rise of AI tools in the healthcare industry and the main reason to eradicate the burnout situation among the doctors. In addition, Microsoft has also emerged as a considerable player in the segment. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella mentioned that no one becomes a clinical to do paperwork and it works as a large administrative burden due to which they fail to get the attention away from looking after the patients. He further said that it is the main reason why Microsoft has released Dragon Copilot, the industry’s first AI assistant for clinical seamlessness.

Microsoft Dragon Copilot is created on top of existing tools like DAX and Dragon Medical One (DMO). The firm has also said that the architecture of Dragon Copilot lets organizations provide enhanced experiences and outcomes across care settings. The AI model can be used to draft notes and memos in a personalized style and format. Apart from voice-to-text transcription, the model also lets user submit their prompts or use templates to create AI-generated notes.

The same can also be used to automate important tasks like conversational orders, clinical evidence summaries, referral letters, and a lot more. Dragon Copilot will be most probably accessible via the smartphone application, desktop, and even the browser. It will be available in the US and Canada by May. Later on, it will be launched in France, the Netherlands, and Germany as well.
