Whether the competition observation is bearing fruit?

Six months after launching a pilot project, Microsoft has begun withdrawing internal licenses for Anthropic’s AI tool Claude Code. The software giant instead wants developers to use its own tool, GitHub Copilot CLI, reports TheVerge.

Claude Code is said to have been popular with thousands of Microsoft employees – including people without a traditional programming background, such as designers and project managers.

Officially, Microsoft justifies the decision by bundling the development around Copilot CLI as a common tool. However, according to The Verge, economic reasons also play a role, as the license cuts come just before the start of Microsoft’s new fiscal year in July.
