Modo Energy, a tech firm building software to value electrification assets, is planning to rapidly expand its business off the back of a £25m Series B investment.
Currently operating in five markets, Modo Energy plans to expand to 20 after securing its lates capital injection.
The firm is developing AI-powered software systems to assign valuations to electrification assets including batteries, renewables, data centres and flexible loads.
Its benchmarks, forecasts and modelling outputs are currently used by various asset owners and operators, with the company hoping to establish valuation standards in the sector.
“We’re building the benchmarking and valuation operating system for global electrification – and AI is central to that mission,” said Modo co-founder and chief executive Quentin Scrimshire.
“Because we own our entire modelling stack, we can deliver AI-powered, explainable valuation workflows that replace static analysis with dynamic intelligence systems. It’s a privilege to support our customers with tools worthy of the decisions they’re making.”
The Series B funds will support the hiring of engineers, data scientists and customer support staff as it scales its platform across batteries, solar, wind, data centres and flexible loads.
The investment was led by Molten Ventures and includes participation from ETF Partners, MMC Ventures Fred. Olsen Limited.
“AI has the potential to transform how the world values and finances electrification. Modo Energy is uniquely positioned to lead this shift because it owns the entire modelling stack and has already established the trust required across the financial ecosystem,” said Molten Ventures head of climate George Chalmers.
“We’ve been impressed by the team’s deep sector expertise, strong execution, and ability to embed their product into customer workflows. We’re confident that Modo’s strong growth, focus, and global ambition will position them as the benchmark for energy market intelligence across Europe and beyond.”
The firm previously raised £3.2m in a pre-Series A round in 2022.
