Apple TV and NBCUniversal today announced a new partnership, where customers in the US will be able to subscribe to a combined Apple TV and Peacock bundle at a discounted price. The $14.99/mo bundle includes Apple TV and Peacock Premium, or you can get Apple TV and Peacock Premium Plus (their ad-free tier) for $19.99/mo.

This represents a roughly 30% saving compared to subscribing to the services individually. For the first time, Apple has also arranged a special deal for Apple One subscribers …

If you are an Apple One Family or Apple One Premier bundle subscriber, you will be able to add Peacock Premium Plus at a 35% discount compared to its normal price. This is the first benefit of its kind for Apple One members.

The new bundle will launch in the United States on October 20, and users can sign up through either company’s app or website.

To trail the launch, Peacock and Apple will also be cross-promoting some of their content.

That means Peacock subscribers will be able to sample a few free episodes of select Apple originals like Slow Horses, Stick, Silo, The Buccaneers, Foundation, Palm Royale and Prehistoric Planet.

Similarly, Apple TV users can watch some episodes of Peacock content like Law & Order, Bel-Air, Twisted Metal, Love Island Games, Happy’s Place, The Hunting Party and Real Housewives of Miami.

The actual mechanics of the bundle is a simpler affair; sign up and use your Peacock account and Apple Account to log in to the Peacock and Apple TV apps respectively, on whatever platform you choose.

In a statement, Apple Services VP Oliver Schusser said the new partnership will help bring Apple TV’s programming to more viewers in more places:

“We’re thrilled to introduce this all-inclusive bundle of incredible programming and to bring Apple TV’s beloved shows and movies to more viewers in more places,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple TV, Apple Music, Sports, and Beats. “From acclaimed originals to can’t-miss live sports, the Apple TV and Peacock Bundle unites the best of entertainment in a simple and seamless experience.”

Apple’s openness to deals like this show how seriously it treats the Apple TV subscription service as a standalone business, and that it wants to expand the reach of its originals as much as possible.

While the company has declined to reveal its subscriber numbers, Eddy Cue recently said in an interview that Apple TV has “significantly more” than 45 million subscribers.
