New Disney Lorcana Expansion Delves Into Mystery

Disney Lorcana is preparing a high-profile expansion for its fans. The tenth chapter of Ravensburger’s TCG, called Glimmers in the Deep, promises to be one of the most intriguing since the game’s launch. With a release scheduled for November 7 as a preview in specialized stores and November 14 for the official release, this new expansion promises to introduce players to a universe where mystery and investigation mix with Disney magic. It’s the right time to Halloween.

Zootopia, Taram and Gargoyles

The extension coincides perfectly with current cinematographic news, since Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia will return to the big screen soon. For the occasion, the characters of Zootopia take on the role of investigators and will guide players in a mysterious affair that shakes the kingdom of Lorcana. The theme is not only narrative, since it will also be synonymous with new mechanics around characters bearing the Detective subtype.

The expansion also marks the arrival of two Disney universes eagerly awaited by the community. In the first place, Taram and the Magic Cauldron finally makes its appearance in the TCG. This dark animated film from the 80s brings with it particularly powerful cards, starting with the Magic Cauldron, a legendary item in Amber ink which allows characters to be recovered from the discard pile to put them back into play. With it, the Dark Lord also makes his entrance with several versions, including one capable of bringing banished characters back into play thanks to his dark magic.

But above all it is the arrival of Gargoyles, the cult series from the 90s, which generates the most enthusiasm. Demona, the main antagonist of the series, establishes itself as a legendary card on which the new meta will have to rely, with a cost of 6 inks and statistics of 5/6. Gargoyles also introduce a new mechanic, called Day Statue, which prevents these characters from standing up as long as their owner has three or more cards in hand, faithfully reflecting their nature as nocturnal creatures.

The character revolution Glimmers

The major innovation of this expansion lies in the introduction of Whisper characters in English, accompanied by the new Boost mechanic. These specters can be strengthened by placing face down cards under them from the top of the deck. A mechanic that will unlock statistical improvements or new abilities, adding a new strategic dimension to the game.

In terms of derivative products, Ravensburger offers a new range of accessories to satisfy collectors and players. In addition to the boosters, it will be possible to obtain the Treasure of the Illuminators for €54.99, which includes eight boosters, an illustrated storage box, six thematic dividers, a rotary Lore counter and six glittering dice. The preconstructed decks, offered at €19.99, will allow you to immediately discover the mechanics of the expansion with 60 ready-to-play cards, perfect for beginners.

A promising future is emerging

The Glimmers in the Deep expansion represents only the beginning of a phase full of new features for Disney Lorcana. The Givresort expansion, expected for February 2026, will introduce the worlds of Myster Mask et Lilo & Stitch: The Series in a winter atmosphere. Later in the year, the Unknown Countries set will mark the long-awaited arrival of the Pixar characters, with Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their companions. With an expansion every three months, the Lorcana TCG continues its development strategy, teasing new game mechanics, new licenses and a mysterious atmosphere.
