Next year’s new foldable iPhone may have a lot in common with iPhone Air: report – 9to5Mac

Despite this year’s new iPhones only barely hitting store shelves, new information about next year’s iPhone lineup is already brewing. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman today shared some new details about the all-new foldable iPhone set to launch next year – including how it should look, some pricing details, and more.

According to today’s Power On newsletter, we should expect the foldable iPhone to look incredibly similar to two iPhone Air’s side by side, which would be a technical marvel. It should also offer a titanium chassis:

As for how the foldable iPhone will look, I am increasingly told that users should imagine two titanium iPhone Airs side-by-side. In other words, it’s going to be super thin and a design achievement.

This rumor pairs nicely with a lot of speculation from the community that Apple engineered the iPhone Air as an experiment for a future foldable iPhone.

Additionally, Gurman states that everything he’s heard suggests that Apple will be manufacturing this foldable iPhone in China, despite recent reports of Apple beginning foldable iPhone production in India. Granted, he did hedge that claim by adding that there’d be “at least” some China production.

Lastly, he mentions that this foldable iPhone will likely cost at least $2000. Previous rumors have corroborated that, with older reports claiming it’ll be in the $2100-2300 range.

As for the release timeline, we should expect the iPhone Fold to launch next fall, alongside the iPhone 18 lineup. It may slip slightly to an October or November launch, similar to other brand-new iPhone launches like the iPhone X in 2017 – though it’ll almost definitely be unveiled in September 2026.
