On Sunday, humanoid robotics startup Noetix Robotics unveiled a new generation of bionic robot featuring a female persona named Xiao Nuo. Xiao Nuo is equipped with multimodal embodied interaction capabilities, 32 DOF (degrees of freedom), and facial expressions that closely resemble those of real humans. The robot also supports open character customization such as personalized makeup, according to the company. Founder Jiang Zheyuan also announced that pre-orders for the company’s N2 robot have exceeded 1,000 units. First unveiled in March, the N2 is claimed by the company to be the world’s first humanoid robot capable of continuous backflips and is priced from RMB 39,900 ($5,625). Last month, it secured second place in the humanoid robot half-marathon competition held in Beijing. [IThome, in Chinese]
