Following the NVIDIA 580 Linux beta driver from just one week ago, today NVIDIA issued a new R580 series Linux driver build.
Last week’s R580 beta brought fifo-v1 support with Vulkan on Wayland, updated GPU clock reporting, and a variety of other nice enhancements over the NVIDIA 575 series.
With today’s NVIDIA 580.76.05 Linux driver build are just three changes over last week’s release. There are updated EGL components for both egl-x11 and egl-wayland. The other change is introducing the “OutputBitsPerComponent” MetaMode attribute to control the number of bits per color component for display outputs.
– Updated egl-x11 to version 1.0.3.
– Updated egl-wayland to version 1.1.20.
– Added an “OutputBitsPerComponent” MetaMode attribute that can be used to control the number of bits per color component transmitted via a display connector. If not specified, the driver will choose an optimal color format.
